I have a split DB with the back end database on the server and the front end database on the client machine.
The client connects to the server at another site via VPN...
Is it possible to link tables to the back end in the normal manner...or are there other considerations for this to work without issue...?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

The implication of using a VPN is the size (length) of the network pathways and exposure to external influences. IF you are using a relatively fast network between FE and BE and that VPN is for security, reasonable response is quite possible. If you are doing this over a really long distance network and the VPN is not solely for security reasons, you might see some slowdowns.

The VPN solution seems to work better when the BE is SQL Server rather than Jet/ACE. But reports are all over the place so I have no idea what causes the slowness. Doc is much closer to this problem.
