Split tables>>Front end doesn't recognize backenc

I split my database. Then got the bright idea to rename them. Now when I launch the front end (which contains the forms, etc.), I get a message saying that it can't find my backed. I've tried renaming the back end back to its original name, but its still not working.

What is the best way to fix this situation? I was thinking about opening the front end, and re-importing the tables from the back end, or, breaking the links between the front end and back end. If I re-import, should I move stuff from the front end to the back end or vice versa?

Just go to TOOLS\Database Utilities\Linked Table Manager. Set your new path(s) for all the tables.

I wasn't able to do this with my Access. Something is wrong with it. So, I got around my problem by importing the tables from my BE to my FE. Now its working fine.

Did you import or link your tables? If you imported your tables, then you no longer have a FE/BE.

No, I actually get an error message stating,"MS Access can't find wizard...may be missing libraries key...reinstall Access..."

I don't know why you're having some problems. So I will just give you the general steps. If for some reason the linked table manager isn't working from the front-end...delete all of your tables (backup so as not to lose data.) The click file - get external data - link tables. Navigate to where the backend resides, click open, then select all of the tables. This will create the front-end. If you import the tables then you have only taken a long route to make a self-contained database.

If the linked table manager does work then open it up (tools - database utilities - linked table manager) Check the tables that need updated or just select all then check the box at the bottom (prompt for new location) then click OK. Navigate to the backend and click open. Let it do its thing then they should all be linked.

If this doesn't work then just shoot it.
