Splitting a number

Can anyone help me to split a number using an access query to the left and right of the decimal point. I found it in a reference somewhere but have lost it. the number is generated in a query and I need to do something with the fraction

Check out the built-in Access Split() function. I think it has been a part of Access since Access 2000.

Int([YourNumber]) will strip off the decimal portion of the number if it is numeric and ([YourNumber] - Int([YourNumber])) will give you the decimal part.
