New job

I just got a new job as a database admin. I am a little confused on where to start. They have a Access db with a bunch of tables, queries, and forms.
Im also kind of new to MS Access so naturally im kind of nervous.
The Db is MS ACCESS 2002
Does any one have any advise on what i should try doing first to get confortable with their sys.

Thanks

A good book that I used to get started was the 'Access 2000 VBA Handbook' by Susann Novalis. I'm sure there are many others out there that of some use, but this one gave me a good idea on how to get started. Try searching on Amazon.com or Barnes and Nobles. You can probably find a used one at a very decent price.

Might be good to specify what version of Access you are using.

If you are up on databases but unfamiliar with Access, you might be able to start with the Access Developer's Guide as an overview. However, if you are more of a general programmer who has not previously worked with databases, you need to start at a lower level.

Several guides to using Access are available in your bookstore. SANS Institute makes a generally good series though I am not familiar with their specific offering for Access. I would suggest that you decide how deep you want to get right away and look for a book with a difficulty rating consistent with that intent.
