I have a form with various "options". These have been designed on the principle of "if you tick this - then this shows, but if you tick that - then that shows".

Works beautifully. EXCEPT - when you navigate away from the current record, the boxes that are visible are visible on all records. If you create a new record all currently visible fields are hidden again.

Ideally, what we'd like to happen is (say):

The users is on say record 10 and choses box 1 and 2 and therefore fields 6 and 7 show.
When they create a new record (11) all the boxes are hidden. They only choose box 1 so only field 6 shows.
If they navigate back to 10, we want fields 6 and 7 still showing.
If they then navigate back to record 11, we want only field 6 showing.

Confused? :D So am I!

You would need code in the current event to set the visibility of the controls based on the values in that record.

Like so many things in Access we answered this issue by totally redesigning the form. <sigh> You spend a week banging your head on the table in the frustration only to realise that even if you got it do what you wanted, it wasn't what you needed anyway.
