Hi,
Am not sure if its possible with access but have a hunch that it might not be something very difficult.

I have developed an access FE/BE application (in the network). The front-end users run query and view the results fine.

They copy (ctrl-C) the data from the query datasheet and paste (ctrl-V) it to Ms-Excel which I want to stop. Is there any way that I can stop/restrict them from copying the data and pasting it somewhere else. I want to stop this operation.

Thanks in advance.

Couple of questions.

What functionality are you not providing that makes users want to paste data into Excel?
Why are you letting you users have access to data in a query? they should be seeing it in a form or a report. If they can't see the query, then cut and paste becomes much more difficult.

Your problem is going to be compounded by this fact: The only way to stop the cut/paste operation in Access is through a form, where you can set up events to trap a KeyPress event. If your users are examining a query, there is no infrastructure to support general events.

So, for the problem you described, and restricting the answer to something within Access, I believe the answer is "NO" - you cannot stop the operation.

I'm with Neil on this one. Why do your users want to cut/paste like that? What function are they trying to perform?

Thanks

Hi neileg / The_Doc_Man,
I understood. Thanks for the idea.
