Hi All

I'm sure i've done this before but simply cannot remember.

My main form has a hidden sub form, when a particular button is clicked on the main form the sub form becomes unhidden. I now want the subform to be completed and prevent the user from clicking back into the Mainform, thus potentially leaving the subform uncompleted.

The subform is a pop up so the main form is visible behind it, with relevant data in it so don't want to hide it.

Why not open the subform as a Modal/Dialog form? That way it will stay on top until closed. Then you can trap for the necessary events on the subform to prevent it from being closed until all fields have been completed.

By the way, if you are opening the form from the main form and it is not on the main form in a subform control, it really isn't a subform. It is just another form. It is important to note the distinction because "subforms" have distinct behavior which regular forms do not have and vice-versa.

Got around it by when the SubForm was activate i simply set the AllowEdits = False on the Main Form and set it back when the form closed.

It worked so I happy

Thanks for responding, it is appreciated
