So, I have this form that contains subforms to hold different types of infomation for different clients. At the top of the form it has the case #, first name, last name, and then a tab element in which each of 6 pages (tabs) holds subforms for other information associated with the client.

I have a table that holds only client number and name.
Then each of the six subforms operate off of a table, and all the tables are connected through relationships using client number, first name, and last name.

How could I make the subforms autofill their cooresponding tables using the case #, and name fields from the main form without having to repeatedly input the client #, names for each tab/subform?

Please help, I've literally been working on this for months.

What is your Master/Child relationship set at?

Thanks for responding already!

I don't know about that ? I'm not especially experienced in Access, but have worked with a couple organizations, but this one is by far the largest system I've tried (volunteering here). Below are some screenshots that may help someone to help me better? Maybe?

It appears you have an issue with your relationships.

If you are using ID(autonumber) as PK in a table, for a related table you would include a field as a FK. This field let's call it MyIDFK) would be Number type and long integer format.
Then iin your relationships you would create the relationship by dragging the ID PK to the related table MyIDFK.

A couple of points:

*The secret is to get your tables defined and designed before getting on to forms etc. Then get the relationships established.

*Instead of using the Field ID as PK in every table, use a meaningful name such as CaseNumberID so that you and users/maintainers are not confused by several fields called ID.

*Your relationships all appear to be 1:1 which is rare and unlikely.

There is a tutorial here about table design, normalization and relationships.

Good luck
