Hello,

i've this main report named : "Formations" that have about 10 subreports

all this subreports have the same query criteria, and there's no link between main report and all subreports on it, i'm only using this main form to preview all this sup reports in one report combined.

here's a photo in design mode

and when i print preview it it shows the below photo :

My issues is :
1- Like u see in photo above at the end of the page there's only 2 subreports header and all data in the next page , and i wanna force it to keep together the whole subreport, like this option in other reports

means, this last 2 subreports, i want them to start in the next page automatically if they can't show on the current page

2- in this report , first report on the right have data more than the left one, and the report automatically work on the same height of the bigger subreport and make the whole row using same height
check this photo and the red square this space is empty in the left side because of this subreport on the right height.

i need this red area to be eliminated, means all subreports having it's own heights without affecting the whole row

i hope you get what i mean

Thanks

do you mean padding a blank rows/record to compensate for the tallest subreport?
requires vba.

Something like this? Sorry about the poor quality image. Its a screengrab of a screengrab

Try using 2 columns for your main report placing subreports in each column

that's good idea but it won't fit in my situation
Using 2 columns will change the order of subreports
i mean that i wanna see the first 4 subreports in "Formation 1" beside each other not in a column way !

and still not found any fix of the last subreport that only shows the header and the data in the next page #1 issue

Hi. For a 2-column report, you can have it either side-by-side or top and bottom.

No. The subreports will be placed where you put them as is the case in my example. I have lots of similar reports with multiple subreports arranged in this way.

As for the other point, experiment with the Keep Together option. You may need to force a page break as well either using the property sheet or a page break control.

Hi. I'm not in front of a computer right now, but I was thinking they would. For example, if you only put two subreports on top of each other on the first column and then set the column order to go sideways, are you saying they would still show up in one column?

regarding subreports sortings can you please attach an example db ?

and regarding force page break, i can't use it as some of this sub reports may not have data and will shrink to 0' , so the page will be half empty !

in case of 2 subreports only it will show as i choose " cross and down " or " down and cross "

but in case i have 10 subreports , and i wanna first 5 subreports to show in cross and down !! and the other 5 subreports the same way !!!

That means there will be gap after subreport #5, correct? If so, have you tried adding an empty subreport between sub 5 and sub 6? Just curious...

Hi
Sorry the examples are from a commercial app with a 150MB FE & 1.5GB SQL BE!
If you are interested, you can download a DEMO version from http://www.mendipdatasystems.co.uk/school-data-analyser/4584605482. There are screenshots of several of my reports on that page

The screenshot below is from another similar report. All data is for a fictitious school used in the DEMO version

What I should have made clear was that I was arranging the subreports in 2 columns - NOT using a 2 column report. Hopefully the design view will clarify what I meant. Not all subreports are visible in the design view screenshot

I have the same issues with subreports that may be empty. It is also solvable with suitable use of CanGrow/CanShrink; KeepTogether; PageBreak & where necessary moving reports up if the one above has no records.

In design view try setting the height of each subreport to e.g. 0.5 cm

However these expand as required to display the data in each:
