Sum function in a form

In Table design.

Data Type should be "Number" .

Then under the General Tab the Field Size should be "Double"

You obviously have your reasons for formatting a Number as Currency, but I can't see why you would do that.

Could you elaborate.

It isn't FORMATTING a number as Currency. It is a datatype. Since the numbers the user is using are currency types, why not make it the appropriate data type. It is an overlooked data type - it really exists as a separate datatype from number.

Happy New Year too. And I don't watch TV much so I don't know. I doubt it as we don't get much of that type of stuff.

I went for Number because based upon the OP's posts I was unsure if it was indeed Number or Currency even though I did ask that question.

So I went for Number.

In either case it still should work so something else may be going on.
