I have a form what pulls quotes and approvals, etc for jobs.

Across the screen it has quote, approved by, approval date & approval amount. So....it may have 6 or 7 rows for each service we do and they will ALL have an approval amount however, there will only be 1 or 2 out of the list with an approved by & approval date, I need to pull them out and sum them.

I have a text box (75) that says =IIf([AppBy]>0,[ApprovalAmt],0)

It works fine, pulls out what I need and it is formatted as a number.

I need a total of just those numbers....ie: =Sum([Text75]) but it keeps giving me an error.

What am I doing wrong?

That's still giving me an error and causing the quote and billing totals to error as well although they worked before.

The sum() should work in a subform footer. Is that where you are putting it?

I am putting it in the subform footer...the IIF statement is there as well...should I bring it out into the main form footer?

You can't Sum calculated values, you have to repeat the calculation
Sum(IiF([AppBy]>0,[ApprovalAmt],0))

*giggle*

Do you have time for 1 more quick question?

How do I create an on update event that make Access check the total of a form against the balance on a subform and popup a warning form if they do not match?
