Hi all,

I am very new to Access and at the moment I can run a range of queries but that is about it :( The purpose of this thread is mostly to seek advise and find a starting point for me to then work from. I am using Access 2010 on Windows 8.

I have been given access to a database containing information about a lot of properties. The database was created by the company I am working at for a local client. My task now is to try and find a way to provide the client with the database but without them having to get bogged down in all the data. What I am hoping to do is have some sort of form that allows the client to select which variables they want and choose specific locations. Then have Access give back summary tables and graphs such as, for example, a table and/or graph separating every property in a certain area by the type of heating fuel used (gas, electricity, solid fuel etc.). There are thousands of properties in this database so I don't want the clients to have to deal with these large sets of data.

The purpose for this is that the client wants to get a better understanding of the properties within their area but they obviously do not want to do all the data analysis and database work themselves.

If anyone could point me in the direction of something that would allow me to do what I have explained with this database then I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Ben.

Welcome to AWF !

Hope I understand well your problem:
You have a form where you display all the records.
Now you like to have some combos from where to select certain properties and the data in the form to be filtered according with the selection(s).

Is that the problem you are facing with ?
