Summation in Group Footer

I'm trying to add a control in a group footer where it Sums a control in the details but when i go to preview the report ,the field in the details I'm referencing pops up as a parameter to enter. What am I doing wrong? Here's the control:

=Sum([sales])

The parameter that pops up when trying to run the report is "sales"

Please help?

There isn't a field named sales on your Report, check the spelling

Summation in Group footer

Thanks Rich but i thought of that so I renamed the field in the detail 'one' and placed the following control in the footer:


=Sum([One])

The parameter box still comes up any other suggestions?

Also this is a calculation control added just to the report, it is not in the query results, does that make a difference?

You have to repeat the calculation
ie =Sum([Cost]*[Quantity])
