Hi,

I was presented with a Visio diagram, at work, depicting the floor plan for our Data Centre. We see a series of Server Racks, with 6 to 7 servers contained in these racks. The information about the servers (ie: Host Name, Serial numbers .... etc), is kept in an MS Access database table.....

I was able to setup a link between Visio and Access (using the 'Database Wizard' in Visio), and I can see the information from the database when I select a record from the Visio 'Shape'. What I am wondering, however, is if it is possible to change information in the Access table, and have the Visio diagram automatically updated ? If so, and I have 5 servers in 'Rack 1', how would I display all of these servers on the Visio diagram ..... ?

Thanks !

I have done it several years ago.

Yes, it can be done however you need to trigger the event. Which means that you have to press a button in Visio or when you start Visio.

HTH:D
