I have seen this problem posted a few times but the thread always seems to deadend.

The Tab control click event does not respond. I am using Access 97 and have duplicated this in as simple a test as possible.
Set up a form, toss a tab control on board, configure it for 2 tabs, put a Msgbox box in one of the tabs click events, Lets say tab2.

Open Form click tab2.

It obligingly gets the focus (Sorta...... Tabs don't have the focus property. Bill Gates! You ......)

But there is no msgbox!

So click anywhere in the that tabs detail area and presto you get the msgbox. How dumb is that?

Kinda like labeling the folders in your file cabinet at the bottom.
D-oh !

If any one has run into this or thinks they have a fix for my LIL example please Post your Magic.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe you could take the back door.
Do your On Click Tab event when the first control (tab order = 0) in the corresponding tab recieves the focus.
So if you click on tab2 and txtBox1 recieves the focus first, put your TabClick Event stuff in the On Focus event of txtBox1.

I don't know, just a thought..
I hear ya with the no onfocus event for the tab... GRRRR...

Good Luck...

Try putting your msgbox in the On Change event of the Tab Control.

Thanks for the input.

I found that the "on enter" event of the sub form control in my various tab pages did the trick.

After frustration peaks working whacky code is better than broken elegant code. :D
