Tabbed Form - Totally baffled!

In my address book I created about 8 years ago I have a lovely tabbed form with a william morris design on the front and different controls on every tab.

Totally forgot everything I picked up back then
So following the instructions on the microsoft site

But no matter what I do all the tabs take on all the controls I put on the first one. Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Started from scratch with three tabs and clicked on the tab before entering the controls but when I to the other two tabs the same controls are there.

Yes, when adding a control to a tab, it is necessary to click on that tab first and then when you click the button to add a control you should see the whole tab area go black. You can then go click on that black area to drop the control and then move it into place.

Bob Larson has a tutorial on how to pull them off once they have been placed (if showing up on multiple tabs) and then put it on to a single tab.
