I have a tabbed form. It has 6 Tabs.

It is based on my employee's table.

Each tab captures various bits of info on the employee.

If you move through the controls on each tab (Name, middle name, first name) using the Tab Key (as in doing data entry), it defaults to new record rather than moving to next tab.

why?
How to fix?

Please help.

Regards

That is expected behaviour...

First, you would need to set your first tab (which has a dubform)? to cycle current record. Then you could set the On_Exit event of the last field tabbed to the next tab/subform field. It will not go there automatically without being *pushed*.

thank you for your reply. not sure If I understand. By (dubform) I take it you mean sub form?

I'm going to back up a bit. I have an employee's record form.

To make it smaller and manageable, I put the fields (or controls). onto separate tabs. The main body of the form hosts buttons for printing reports etc.

Tab 1 is Employees. and hosts; Employee ID, Last Name, Middle Name, First Name, DOB and Position.

Tab two is Key Dates; Start Date, Performance Review Date, etc. Tab three is Contact Details, etc.

I can only set the Cycle Property when I have form in focus in the property sheet. I can't do it if I click on the Tab part of the form.

And, ok, on your other point; If "Position" is the last control on the Tab Page Employees, do I enter code into the On Exit property of that control?

Many thanks in advance.....:o
