table is locked

I have a report that is based on two queries because the information is coming from many different tables but when I am trying to run the report I am getting the message

'the database engine could not lock the table 'booking_Instance' because it is use by another person or process'

there a several people using the database at the same time is there something I have done in the settings? is there a way around this?

I don't really understand it because the table is used on several other reports that run just fine.

modify your query, on design view Property set its Recordset Type to Snapshot.

Not wanting to sound stupid I cannot find the record set for the query (I am using access 2010)

If you are using tabs, close all your other tabs to see if that helps.

No tabs used.

When a right click the query and go into sql view I have the option to set the 'Record Locks' to 'No Locks', would this help?

are you actually using pessimistic locking in your system?
