Table reformat based on criteria

Hello, I don't know if this is possible and is probably complex, but I receive an excel spreadsheet of our investments. The sheet is really clumsy but it's consistent. So I was hoping to import it into Access then have a query strip out just what I need. I.e
________________________________________________________
Account: 1890
Balance: £800

Post date Type Description Amount
09/10/16 PMNT XXXXX £20

_________________________________________________________

As per the above, I want to take all rows underneath the "Post date" row and bring the account number and balance into two columns on the end.

Am I dreaming that this can actually be done?

It is very difficult to picture what your spreadsheet looks like. Is the spreadsheet separated into suitable columns? Do we need to split certain data separate columns first? It sounds like most of the work needs to be done in Excel first.
 
Access isn't the answer for this, Excel is. Let's call the tab that you have now 'report', what you need to do is add a new tab called 'data'. Then you build a macro that loops through report and extracts it into columns/rows on data. Once you have that you can import data into Access.
