tables tab in object bar

as you can guess from my problem i'm a newbee, but we all have to start sometime.
When I click on the Table tab in the objects bar my tables are not listed , nor are my queries under the query tab. I have looked in tools/options but to no avail. I can access my tables from forms and reports but no list.

Hi,

Try going into Tools>Options and on the view tab check hidden objects

It is probable that your tables and queries are hidden. Look under Tools-Options-View tab (in Access97 anyway!) and select to view hidden objects.
