I don't want to block email sending, It's just that in A2003, email sending fails - so I test the situation, and warn users with A2003 they can't issue emails.

I hadn't thought about sendto.

I am in general trying to put together a pack of pdfs and send to assorted recipients along with a covering email. Not sure if I can do that with "sendto". Can I?

Sorry I actually meant "SendObject"
But nope - you right it does not cater for attachments if I remember correctly. Just Access objects with will not work for your pdfs

How about storing all the pdfs on a webserver and sending the hyperlinks to the people as normal text in the email body?
That why the email remain small and reach even people who are scared to open emails with attachments and they can then navigate to the links you provide
