I have a text box on a form which shows a auto number. I would like to format the number when shown to split ie (123 456) instead of (123456). Can any one help! Thanks in advance. :

Why is the autonumber visible to the user in the first place?

The number is used as a unique batch number for a piece of work produced.

Set the textbox to be hidden. Put a new text box on your form.

Set it's ControlSource to be:

=Left(txtAuto, 3) & " " & Mid(txtAuto, 4, 3)

where txtAuto is the name of your hidden textbox.

This will, of course, only work for autonumbers of 6 digits long.
