Okay, heres the scoop,

I have 2 colums of text boxes, one for current payment, one for proposed. As it stands right now, the default value in the proposed is set to the corresponding current payment. My problem is, when I change/enter a value in the current, I would like the proposed to change to meet it, but is it not. I've tried reqeury in the after update and on change in the current field, but no go. Any suggestions?

Thanks alot!

If both values are the same, why would you need to store both of them? Assuming that the Proposed amount can be set independently, why would you want to overlay it once it has been given a value? To make it change when the other field changes, set its value in the AfterUpdate event of the other field-

Me.Proposed = Me.current

The default value for ALL (current and proposed) is 0 (zero), what I want is when I go in and enter the actual value in current, that it then forces the corresponding proposed text field to change. How would that work?

Thanks!

Try reading my post again. I showed you the syntax.

I tried that but it didnt' work. Here is what I have...

Current is "text116"
Proposed is "text158"

Both fields default to 0 (zero)

I tried putting in the after update: me.text116 = me.text158 and i tried it vice versa and neither worked. The proposed remained at zero the entire time. Sorry for being a pain, but could you explain a little more maybe.

The code goes in the AfterUpdate event of the text116 control. Is that where it is?

Yeah, when I put the code: me.text116 = me.text158 in the after update of text116 and I try to change 116 in hope of 158 following suit, it won't allow me to change it, it keeps staying at the default of zero, which is what text 158 is. Maybe I need to switch it around... If i put the same code in 158 it doesnt work either. Figured it out. It text116 I put me.text158 = me.text116.

Thanks alot Pat
