Guys,
I have a strange one here.
I have a combo box that looks up a numerical table to get its data.
(50,100,150,200,250,300)
The combo box is set to limit to list so the operator has to either type in or choose something from the list.
When I tab into this field and type in a number that is in the list I get a prompt saying its not in the the list. I can choose the exact same value i have just typed in from the combo box list with the mouse but I can't seem to just type it in.
I have looked at the properties of this field and they all look exactlly the same as other feilds that seem to work fine.
Any ideas?

a guess would be CAPS? r u typing the WHOLE word in, or are you auto selecting from the intellisense when the list drops down?

Thanks for the reply,
I am entering numbers so should not be effected by CAPS.
The strange thing in these cells is that intellisense does not seem to be happening.
In the other cells when you type the start of a word or number it picks up the balance. In these cells its almost like intellisense can't see what you are entering?
Any other ideas?

check the combo box columns and widths

the intellisense should respond to the first non-zero length column, i think

if you have a very narrow column, it wont be properly visible, but might be used by intellisense. This technique is useful to control the cboboxes display.

it may also be because your column is numeric, not string, but i havent looked into this.

I checked the column width and its the same width as the other combo boxes and should not be a problem.
Its like intellisense has been turned of somehow!
If I type in "100" on the keypad I get the text you entered isnt in the list prompt but I can choose "100" from the combobox.
It worked fine in a previous version of the database and as far as I can see nothing in the property box has changed.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Try changing the AutoExpand property of the combo box from NO to YES if it isn't already yes.

Hi Bob,
Auto Expand is already set to YES.
Any other ideas?

At this point I can only suggest you upload the database so we can take a look. I'm kind of out of ideas at this point.

Is your bound column correct? If your bound column is not the same as the column being displayed, that may cause the problem.
