Text field size limit

Hi,

I'd like to have a field with virtually unlimited size. The 256 text field size limit bothers me. I'll include HTML codes in the field. I thought about using the memo type. Can you advise me anything about its usage, how to define the memo data type, or some other recommendations?

To set a field as Memo type change the Data Type on the field to Memo. How large are these fields going to get?

Have you considered attaching Word documents via a Common Dialog box and hyperlinks? This might be a better way to go if you need to do a lot of custom formatting within the text of the field.

The size will be like the average size for an HTML document...about 10,000 characters let's say. We are trying to use an edit console as a way do edit HTML docs in an elearning project. The content will be in MS Access and with the console the appropriate fields will be updated. That's why your Word document advice is not useful for our project.
