I have started my database but I'm still a new developer (trainee), I need someone who could help me developing it for better enhancement and useful easy database.

· I have faced a problem in the main entry form, I could not make the macro for example when you select the Employee ID Number, the rest of information about the employee will come automatically and access it from the main switchboard.

· On the other form will be used for updating the information to be reflected later in the main form and the tables or the queries and access it from the main switchboard.

· Create a switchboard that the employees will use as needed either to input information by using popup lists or modify or update the information on the information form.

· Generate find, updating form and generate reports for printing out, I need to make it handy, good looking and easy tool for every individual desktop users who can submit their inputs or find a certain information by using a shared folder to access my database

· I have created two tables, one is for the employees’ information and the other one is for other needed information, is that procedure correct? Although the database information is not too big.

create a password one for the database control and for the users to input their items.

Thank you too much, please use the normal email if not possible to load it by this forum (amriasg@yahoo.com)

The database is attached, I’m using access 2007

Hi guy ... You are asking alot there.

Here we can provide help to steer you in the right direction or answer explicit questions, but noone really has the time to create a project from start to finish for people - that's not what this board is for. We all have jobs we have to work, too.

That being said and since you are new to Access, here are some links that may help you in this project so that you may better your skills. It should also help you in asking a direct question for a particular problem by supplying the details so someone here can make a sound recommendation on the best approach.

Hope these help.

Really thank you for this effort, I appreciate it and I'm so sorry to annoy you... I spent a lot of time trying to study it and I reach a point where I stopped
---------------
Now in my attached database, if you could help me
---------------
I want when I select the employee number it brings all information about the employee also on the other form to be able to modify the bob up lists
---------------
Isn’t possible for you to explain to me how can I do that?

---------------
Again I’m too sorry to bother anyone of you
---------------
It's a promise when I deeply learn not to spare anytime without helping or answering any question from this society
---------------
Thank you

For your first bullet, sorry, I don't do macros. Here is a link (taken from the first link I gave you in the first reply) that shows you how to do what you want. It also has a sample db you can download. This could also be used for bullet items 2 and 3.

http://www.techonthenet.com/access/forms/filter_form.php

For bullet 4, here is a link (taken from the first link I gave you in the first reply) that shows how to add to the switchboard in 2007.
http://www.techonthenet.com/access/switchboard/report_page2007.php

To access hard-drive folders, there is plenty of discussion on this site in regards on how to do this.

For bullet 5, here is a link (taken from the third link I gave you in the first reply) that explains a one-to-one relationship. Although these are rare, it depends on how many fields you have. Do a search on database normalization for more help (there is plenty of discussion on this site).

http://www.sienaheights.edu/Personal/csstrain/Access2007/EstablishTableRelationships.pdf

For bullet 6, there are plenty of samples databases for logins in the database samples area of this site. If you search this site, you will see plenty of discussion in this area, too.

Note, it isn't that I don't want to explain it to you, it is just that it has all been explained much better by other people and there is not enough room in these postings to go into very much detail. You are asking for alot of help in one post that is basically making your database for you. That isn't help, that is doing it for you. You have listed requirements and then asked someone to fulfill requirements.

Here is code that opens a related form for the matching ID

DoCmd.OpenForm "ProspectNotes", acNormal, "", "[NameNumber]=[Forms]![MasterForm]![NameNumber]", acEdit, acNormal

The form ProspectNotes is being opened where the field NameNumber matches the value for NameNumber on the form MasterForm.

If done with a macro OpenForm action then the Where clause would be

[NameNumber]=[Forms]![MasterForm]![NameNumber]

You can also do it by having code or a macro open the form and the form has as its recordsource a parameter query. In the case of my two forms the query supporting the form to be opened would have on the Criteria row for the NameNumber field

[Forms]![MasterForm]![NameNumber]

Thank you all for the help, step by step, hopefully I will learn

I appreciate your cooperation

Mr Mike, where can I type the comments that you explained in the previous sentence?

I tried to use the macro by using select command but it did not work.

What are the steps for using the macro which makes it selecting all fields that should be appearing when I click on any word from the combo list? I’m still not yet started using the SQL. It’s appearing very difficult for me to learn.

Thank you too much

thank you DK

THE FORM IS EXACTELY WHAT I NEED, I DOWNLOADED IT AND I'M TRYING TO USE THE INFORMATION THAT WAS WRTTEN ON IT ABOUT THE MACRO

THANK YOU TOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH

I have not seen Access 2007 so it might be different but I amgine it will be similar once you get there.

For a macro you create a new macro and that should take you to the macro design view. If you go to View you can click on Conditions and you then have three columns in macro design.....Condition, Action and Comment.

In the Action column you click and then will appear a drop down arrow. From the list you select OpenForm and a box will appear at the bottom of the screen. There you see Form Name (form to be opened) and Where Condition. In the Where Condition you put

[FieldinFormtobeOpened]=[Forms]![Formyou are opening from]![Fieldof form you are opening from].

You then attach the macro to a field, label or button on the form for the event, probably OnClick.

For the code you add it to the Event for the label, field or button.

You get to Event by right clicking on the control and then Properties and then Event. For a macro you just put the macro name on the line. For code you click the 3 dots and select Code from the box that pops up. A screen will open and you see something like

Private Sub CLSurname_Click()

End Sub

You insert the code between both lines.

I would suggest you buy a book on Access 2007. To be able to get value from Forums or Google searches you need to have at least a basic knowledge.

It Seams That I'm A Trouble Maker, I'm Very Sorry, Plz Be Paciant On Me. Please

I Downloaded The Form, I Clicked On The Field To See How It Works, But I Opened A Quiry, What Shall I Do Next?

Mike, how can I appreciate your support?
Really I feel sorry to bother you. You are so generous

I am sorry but I can't afford to spend more time on this with you as you are wanting it step by step through the whole process. As i suggested above you should buy at least one book on Access 2007.

Thank you anyhow, I consider your time and effort

Thank you, I'm practicing your writing and it worked with me so far

Thank you, you are fantastic as will as so generous

Again I felt difficulty to name or rename the fields in the form

Who can teach me in this issue?

Thank you all for this support
