I guess this question has been raised many times, even though I have searched the forum for an answer, but without success.
OK - I'm in the UK, and I like my dates to be DDMMYY, and not MMDDYY. My input form (Dreamweaver/Ultradev 4) manages to validate the input in the format dd/mm/yyyy before sending off to update Access 2000 database.
My date column in Access, Format - Date, is Shortdate with an example of 19/06/1994 being displayed (ie. in UK format).
So - why does Access, on receipt of inputted data, immediately convert this into 06/19/1994 format? And of course when retrieving the date back in dreamweaver, it displays in this same format.
I'd like a workaround please!

This could be your machine set up and not the applications, get into control panel!!

Sorry - I meant to mention in first posting - I've checked my Regional Settings which are English (United Kingdom), and under Date/Short Date Style, dd/MM/yyyy. Date separator is /
So............?

I had the same problem several weeks ago. From what I gathered from other members, this is a known access bug. I have a module and I have to keep changing the code format to get DD/MM/YYYY. Looks like just one of those things I'm afraid!!

Thanks. I suspected as much! Anyway it's all fairly academc. I'm only using access during development for test purposes. When I go to production I'll have to go onto a "proper" dbms like mysql or sql server.

Only thing i can suggest is use the date format

"DD/MMM/YYYY"

then regardless on the format used in the system the date will be correct.
