Hello,
I have a form that we can select the family ID, a member of the family, set the month, year and the actual tithing date, how much they gave, and what category they gave in. (The month and year are just for now till I figure out/remember how to pull specific data, ie month/year, from the date so I can filter it for reports.) I need help in a few areas...

1) You select the Family ID from a drop down, then the member from a drop down. How do I filter the member drop down to only show those assigned to that Family ID? **Figured this out. Check out Post #11 for my solution, if you need help with this.**

2) How can I set the date so that when I enter multiple giving records it automatically fills in the date? (Plus any help with remembering how to pull the data I need would be nice) **This one was answered, tried doing strikethrough bb code, but didn't work, so I italicized it.**

and Lastly and most importantly...

3) Our old system can take the individual tithing information, the amount of money giving via checks, cash, and anonymous, then tell us if we can out even or if we're short/over. How do I get my db to do this?

Thank you in advance for any and all help! Please let me know if you need more help and please number so I know what the help is for. Thank you so much!!!

3) Isn't clear to me what you mean please explain.

There was a small typo; "can" was suppose to be "came"

Here are the steps for what we do now and what I would like my db to do...
1) So we enter in all the giving records for Sunday.
i.e Sam Joe gave $40 to Benevolence and $100 to Tithing (ect for each person)

2) Enter how much was given anonymously, by check, and by cash
i.e. $70 anonymously, $20 in $1, $50 in $10, etc

3) The system shows if we are balanced between the info from step 1 and from step 2. (or if we're too short/over)
i.e. Individual giving came up to $140 / money in hand is $140 = balanced (btw I just entered numbers on step two and didn't mean for it to be the same amount as step 1. lol :p)

4) Once all is balanced a report is created (which I can do)

Hope that helps...

Thank you for that, that will help when putting "anonymous", but I don't know how to set it up so that it will compare the two sides (individual giving vs the amount of $10's, $20's, checks, etc)

I provided a screen shot of the only table I have for tithing (tithngTable). I did just notice that the example I have in the table is missing the "category", this is where I'd put "Benevolence", "Lover Offering", etc. I'm not sure if I should create another table...really I have no idea what to do for this...

I included another picture (HalfofBalanceReview). I want one side of the balance report to show this, and the other side to show what we've received in check & cash, that way I can see the totals for both and see if one side is short. Hopefully this can shed more light on what I'm trying to do. I feel like this is a simple set up, I'm just over thinking it (which tends to happen a lot).

Thanks for the help!

I note you haven't had question 1) answered yet. It might be an idea to repost it in a new thread. It's a question which is often asked here therfore you may be able to find the answer by searching the forum. Search for "cascading combo boxes". And if you use this link it specifically searches this forum.... https://www.google.co.uk/advanced_s...en&cr=countryUK|countryGB&safe=off&as_qdr=all

I figured this out. Thanks for the link! I read a few posts, but since I'm still really new to VBA (taking a class on it now) I decided to try somethings. I got it to work by telling the query for the second combo box to only show those who's FamID# are that of the FamilyID selected in the previous box. Thanks again for that help! (Seeing the code filter gave me the idea)
