I have a db to count the number of times we receive calls from phone numbers recorded in MCI records. The phone number counts are "bumped" up against a customer database and those customer records [with matches on the phone number in the customer record] bring up customer information including what client groups they belong to. I want to use Excel to pareto the top 20 (or so) highest volume callers for each client group. What I need is a way to discover the "top 20" callers for each of the 70 or so clients which will result in about 1400 records. How should I proceed?

What determines a "TOP" called, length or number of calls? If it is number you can group by each pertinent field and count the rows. You could group by each caller within each client group and supply the count. Then using that query as a basis create another query to supply the additional information. Not sure at this point, but you may even be able to use a crosstab query to supply the information in a more readable format, I'm going to guess not by your description, but I hate to rule anything out with limited information.
