Totals not working

Hello,

I have a form and subform, both based on a separate query. The box I created to show the total of the datasheet subform is working correctly in that it does show the correct results as I expect. My problem is that I can not get this total to show on the main form. I have been through this forum, google and the northwind db and followed all the advice found but still can not figure out why it doesn't work.

The total does work correctly in the subform. When I add the textbox to the main form and reference the subform box it simply displays #NAME. I have checked the spelling many times and retyped it many times with no success.

Maybe I am just looking at this thing too long but can someone take a look at the attached DB and see what I may be missing or have done wrong?

You need the name of the control, not the name of the subform:

=[QryFrm_Credit Note Detail Subform].Form!Creditsubtotal

At some point you're going to kick yourself for using spaces in the names.

Darn, I knew I was missing something basic! Thanks for the help, I really needed it!

No problem; this is one of those that seems basic once you know it, but it isn't really obvious at first that there's a difference between the control name and the actual name of the form. A lot of people get tripped up on this one.
