transfer data from access to excel

Hi!
This is more of an excel question, but since I'm transfering data from Access, I'll try it here.

The scenario is that when I press a button, the records for a selected month/year is transfered to excel. This works fine.

What I want to know is; if it's possible (from Access) to see if the file exists. If not - create it, if it exists - append the new records.

If anyone can help or direct me to a place where I can get info on this, it will be greatly apreciated.
