I apologize this is long winded, I am having a hard time with how to explain. The best way I can explain is if I was using excel I could copy a column and paste special transpose into a single cell, but instead I want it with in Access 2000.

More info

I have a query with three columns Apparatus ID, Apparatus Type, Select. when I filter for Items true in select, I somehow want the result in the apperatus row to populate an Engine field in a commanders table.

Example

Apparatus ID; Apparatus Type; Select
Engine 8; Engine ;True
Engine 10; Engine; True

End up with a field that results in what is shown above.
Engine :
Engine 8, Engine 10

You need to be clear about the differences between Access and Excel. In Excel you often have th same data stored in more than 1 place. This is not a good idea in Access. In Access you should store each piece of data once in tables with a normalised structure. Then you can use different queries to extact the data in the format you want for a particlar use.

Once you have the table structure right therest will fall into place.
