Good afternoon everyone,

Apologies if I am posting in the wrong section.

We have an SQL server from which we export data; specifically the tree structure constructed for a site.

The tree structure exported is in the following format:

Key Root_key
Sub4 Sub1
Sub5 Sub2
Sub6 Sub3
Main
Sub1 Main
Sub2 Main
Sub3 Main

I have attached a picture of the tree structure.

What I am trying to achieve with the exported data is to create a form in Access that will offer a better overview. I have been struggling with creating a method of determining parent-child relations to be able to replicate the tree structure in Access. On a small sample I could create the relations manually but the actual site tree structure has several hundred, which makes it quite challenging.

I am new to Access and following general advice from the internet has not proven successful. Would anyone be able to indicate a good starting point?

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

If you are using Access 20002 -2010, theSmileyCoder has a number of free youtube videos starting here.
These may help with concepts and examples.

If your not using A2013, there is, among the Acivex collection, a TreeView that is rather easy to use. You will also need a special table to store you tree.
