I'm building a database to manage projects with 5 tables. There is a main project table and the other 4 tables are all parts of the project (stake holder, resources, materials, results.)

My form is set up in a way where there is the main project entry form and it has a tab control that contains subforms that relate to the other tables. The first tab contains the subform "Stakeholders"

The problem is that I have only 2 projects, yet my main form is showing 6. In the first project there are 2 stake holders and in the second there are 4, which totals to 6. And what is happening when I skip to the next project it shows the 1st project twice and the 2nd project four times. For some reason I think that some issue with the tables and relationships is causing the database to count the stakeholders as projects.

I'm completely lost on this and would greatly appreciate any advice.

Many thanks in advance,
MsDYJ

Any chance of you posting your database? It might make things easier if people can see what is going on with the database.

If you decide to post it and are using Access 2007, you might want to save a copy of it as access 2000-2003, as not everybody on the forums has AC2007.

Because it's work related I can't post it online. If I deleted the small amont of info in it I probably could post, but I don't know how useful that would be to others because they wouldn't be able to see the problem. Unless of course they inserted some sample data in. And I'm sure folks wouldn't want to do that(although I'd greatly appreciate it). Thanks!

Usually a problem like you describe will be obvious whether you provide data or not.

Everything you say is true, and although Access Hero is correct, it will still probably be much better for you to create a small sample set of data that creates the issue you are concerned about. After all, you know best what your expectations are.

We await your sample.

IT WORKED!!!

Thank you all so very much. You have no idea how much I appreciate this. Hopefully someday soon I'll be an expert like you all and be able to return the favor :-). be blessed!
