The big question is what's the reason for congressional republicans and several appointees turning against Trump? Did Elon Musk light the fuse? Or was it the big beautiful bill, the tariffs, the massive gov worker layoffs? Are constituents threatening to not vote for congressional republicans in the midterms?

Trump managed to do a bunch of unpopular things. He increased the deficit, increased taxes with his illegal tariffs and cut programs voters actually cared about. He also undermined Federal institutions such as the FBI, ignored court orders and extorted money from private universities.

What is really amazing is that most congressional Republicans have gone along with this. I guess they never actually believed in the stuff they said they did.

Unless government employment is reported separately from non-government, you will be seeing a skewed picture since government employment is down a lot and that is by design.

I believe so but they are not identified as such.

Those working off the books jobs were not counted. Some undocumented were working under false SSN's are including in employment statistics. Some deported were under various temporary statuses or even work visas and therefore included in employment figures.

Trump has always been a big debtor, so it no surprise he wants inflation.

Interest can contribute to Inflation for sure but lower interest rates can also stimulate a sluggish economy. And that my friend would be devastating for the left. A humming economy, lower crime, new stock market highs all bad news for dems.

How did the economy get to be sluggish? Things were going pretty well in 2023 & 2024 after the COVID crisis. We had a humming economy, lower crime and new stock market highs.

Trump did a better job at describing the issues middle America were experiencing. The message was clear and straightforward. Basement Joe, not so much.
