Did he have a choice? Congress (the Republicans in particular) has been caving to the Democrats for way too many years. We have 18 Republicans who always vote with the Democrats on omnibus bills masquerading as budgets. So the President's choice is always to sign or allow the government to shut down. My preference would be to go for the shut down and hold his ground. Mentioning every day which RINOS are on the side of the Dems. Newsmax and Fox and OAN should scroll the RINO names constantly. He should also write an Executive Order that stops payments to Congress members and staffers while this is going on with no payback after he signs something. Let them collect unemployment which is better than they deserve.
The President should NEVER sign ANY budget bill that includes ANYTHING except a budget. That needs to be policy going forward to stop this perpetual motion machine.

The Saudi's and the rest of the Muslim world also support Hamas and Hezbollah. They donate to madras' which masquerade as schools but all they are is training grounds for future terrorists by drilling holes in the heads of young boys and filling those holes with pure hatred of the west.
I would accept the plane and then regift it to Israel where they can refit it as the mother of a bomb and send it into Gaza.
I am not against killing terrorists. The Israeli's always give warning before air strikes so those who can escape do. Mostly they are prevented from escaping by Hamas.
Sadly, even the children are terrorists in training. They are taught to count by counting dead jews. How's that for responsible parenting? It is no wonder that no other Muslim country will accept Palestinian refugees. They all learned their lesson after the 6-day war. Egypt even built a wall to keep the Palestinians out of Egypt and they will NOT accept refugees even now. That's the kind of people the Palestinians are. They voted for Hamas. They support Hamas and our college students are being taught by their America hating teachers to support terrorists too. I think anyone not an actual citizen should be expelled to Gaza even if we have to strap parachutes on their backs and drop them in. Citizens need to be charged with sedition.
The Constitution makes no mention of "Emergency Powers". All the other powers are limited, not broad. Limited powers is the entire point of the Constitution.

The courts have been varying trying to determine the level of the presidents supervisory power over agencies forever. Long topic. Clearly the president has at least some supervisory power but people's opinions different as to how much. And since Congress in its great and a wonderful wisdom has created an agency to cover just about every topic known to man, that then ends up giving the president a lot of power over those agencies and how they behave.
He didn't implement the cancellation of any loans in any way, forward sideways or backwards? I don't believe that's a true statement. He created a new payment plan so that he effectively canceled the responsibility of paying back loans.
Causing as much of as 1/3 of student loan borrowers to now be in default when those payment plans are ended under Trump which will now require an enormous amount of collections efforts and ugliness that when it otherwise have been there and has nothing to do with covid or people's ability to pay it just has to do with people 's being told they don't have to pay for a long time and getting in the habit of not paying and no longer wanting to pay.

I do think there are many average Americans who care when they see certain special groups getting special treatment. It undermines the equality of all of us.
