I wouldn't phrase it that way. Biden was never known for setting the bar high. Even in his prime, he was a mediocre senator. He’ll likely be best remembered for raising awareness about prostate and mental health, which is a good thing. Biological men over 40 should have regular PSA screenings.
So you think it takes no agents to close the border? The fence doesn't stop all traffic but it does impede it and allow fewer agents to cover the miles of border. I was originally against the fence and I still don't like having to have it there. But the thousands of people crossing were and still are an invasion. They don't all have to be carrying guns for this to be an invasion. These people are coming to steal from our broken welfare system and they are taking resources that belong to poor citizens and legal residents. Trump has slowed the influx to a crawl.
Try to immigrate to Australia if you want to see restrictions. I would prefer an open border. However open borders are totally incompatible with welfare states. Personally, my choice would be to give up the welfare state and open the border

You purposely neglected to consider the cost of an open border, where each illegal immigrant needs to be fed, clothed, health care, housing etc. To assist you with that, I am re-posting the article below. The problem with illegal immigration is the rate at which it occurs. When it's a trickle, it's easier to manage, but when thousands rush the border, it strains every aspect of our lives including the very generous benefits we offer to non-citizens. This reduces the level of support we can provide to our own citizens, including veterans. We can see this threat playing out worldwide not just in the US.
the problem with illegal immigration is that it serves the masters. There have been many viable remedies over the last 40 years. But the Capitalist overlords knew that they could keep the country divided. And it work. Nothing but contempt, from both sides. Those of us in the space outside the noise hear a different drum beat. I do criticize the current administration. For example, I believe the Epstein crimes have been brushed aside. Bondi, Patel, and Bongino have been very disappointing. Republicans are often suspect when it comes to spending and squandering big leads, this has been an ongoing issue dating back to the Tea Party days. However, when I contrast that with liberal nonsense, I still find myself leaning center-right.
