Trump Administration Predictions

Agencies are the executive branch. There is no legal difference between the President abusing his power and the National Park Service abusing their power. It is the President's job to make certain that agencies execute the law.
Actually there is a long and storied history of debate about this issue. Read Neil Gorsuch's book, Overruled, you will learn the history of precisely how the courts and the public and the executive branch itself has viewed agencies. It tends to go back and forth, is probably the most accurate way of describing it.

The people in the hotels were there until they received temporary work permits.
EVERY illegal alien is, in their mind, "only here until I [hope I] receive [green card, temp work permit, asylum, Stay, etc. etc. etc.] "
But of course that's the idea.

Personally, I'd rather see a cut down the middle of time-in-the-country. I'd want to deport everyone who came within the last year.
Let those who have settled in >a year and working , if able bodied, to stay

Trump just suspended workplace raids against agriculture, restaurants and hospitality. Apparently, he discovered that America needs the workers.
That was yesterday, it didn't last long. Now TACO trump says it's ok to raid workplaces again.

That's all well and good if you're an importer of Chinese goods. But what if you're an exporter and have you no access to their market, do you just pound sand?
I have a number of answers here.

1. China is not a hard country to export to, my company sells plenty there despite the retaliatory duties. All you need is a product they want to buy.

2. The government doesn't owe you a living. If somebody chooses not to buy from you, that is your problem, even if their actions are unfair. You need find other customers or find something else to sell.

3. The logic of punishing American consumers for Chinese government policies escapes me.

4. Intimidating China to change its policies will not work. China's economy is larger than the US.

Maybe Kristi the prettiest-dhs-director-ever looked at him with those big eyes and that winsome smile...

Fort Lee was originally named after Robert E Lee, but recent events had it changed to Fort Gregg-Adams. It never took and the locals still called it Fort Lee.

Trump has renamed it to Fort Lee, but the name-sake is now Pvt. Fitz Lee - a Medal of Honor recipient and a Buffalo Soldier. This should be interesting...

You are brainwashed into believing absolutes from those you obviously worship. Trump's idiotic tariff plan will make these numbers seem like the good old days.

You should know the facts, before you spout.

Have you ever pondered the idea about having an original thought?

Yes, but I wanted to save you the embarrassment of not recognizing one when you saw it... or when it bit you on the butt. After all, I DO try to be considerate to others.

And I'll answer that remark another way. Sometimes I like ideas that others have had. Having multiple people think on the same subject provides a sort of "force multiplier" effect.

You expressed something substantially contradictory to this earlier
Government policies are supposed to increase our overall standard of living, by providing services that we can't obtain as individuals or corporations. It is not the job of the government to provided special benefits to every group that thinks it has been treated unfairly by somebody.

China's trade policies have hurt the standard of living in China. China's economy is slightly larger than the US but its population is almost four times the US. China's government has prioritized preventing urban unemployment at the expense of its standard of living. The result is a lower standard of living and urban unemployment.

Should we out of fairness, do the same thing.

Gorsusch talked about the case of fisherman John Yates, whose conviction for destroying records in a government investigation (three small fish!) was overturned by a 5-4 Supreme Court decision. Sounds a lot like the case of Ksenila Petrova, who facing smuggling charges for failing to declare frog embryos.

We will see if Gorsusch is as willing to standup to overreach by a Republican president. So far, the signs are good.

One of the best answers so far, atleast for me. Now we're getting to the meat and potatoes. (y)
