Trump Administration Predictions (4 Viewers)

I thought MAGA was an election slogan used by Trump. The Americans here talk as if its a political party, is it?
I wonder about 2 things:-
1) do Americans here ever agree on politics or is the childish boring bickering normal?
2) is there anyone who is a prospective Presidential candidate in the USA that would stop the Americans here arguing? Then perhaps we can have sensible topics we can all contribute to instead of dopey American politics very few outside the USA have heard of - like the bloke who got shot.

Technically it is not a political party. It is a fragment of the Republican party, but it is a very large fragment . Sadly, the RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) are fighting the MAGA faction as if we were the enemy. They hate DJT so much, they would rather see him fail than succeed. Says a lot about their patriotism doesn't it?

Do the Britts?

Do you ever agree on a PM?

You really ought to block this forum since it disturbs you so.

There's only one 't' in Brit. And the question referred to you as you are the main agitator here. Plus, I asked if there was a prospective candidate for President, not the British Prime Minister.
Maybe you should stand, you have the skills - argumentative, evade questions, switch focus away from direct questions etc etc.

1. I have seen on BBC America where some Parliament debates were televised and there was no lack of childish bickering. Don't look for something from us that you can't seem to find in yourselves. Don't forget, it has only been about 250 years since we WERE part of you. But again, that split was due to a lot of bickering back then. It is no surprise that on both sides of the pond, we have not forgotten petty bickering.

2. No. I have seen news reports where British government does not survive because of the multiple parties and tenuous coalitions. We only have two serious political parties; you have at least four or five

3. You? Contribute sensibly to a topic? I haven't seen THAT happen in several years. You are NEVER satisfied unless you can poke your little needle under someone's skin.

4. I'll grant that you might not have heard of Charlie Kirk since you DO tend to isolate yourself from the rest of the world. In the grand scheme of things, that failing is of minor consequence.

Hmm, I could reply and tear your comments apart but I'm sure Pat would order you to ban me as she is a 'supermod' and you're not. So I'll leave it for now and wait.

I don't have to order any one to ban you, I can do it myself.

I was playing at a bridge tournament in Las Vegas a few years ago and 5 of us were at a Black Jack table after the evening session. One of the people standing behind us had a personality similar to yours and made some comment he thought was funny. I said, "watch out Jerry, we're in Vegas. I could have you offed for a quarter" and 4 quarters hit the table. I'm guessing there would be a similar reaction from the members here so don't push your luck.

Pat, this is obviously a diversion, but your story reminded me of a time during a long-ago Dungeons and Dragons game in which one of our members was playing as a country bumpkin shaman with the charisma of a porcupine with a skin rash. He did something totally in character that was infuriating and the Dungeon Master (referee, to the uninitiated) declared a totally unwanted effect - he attracted the attention of the guards. Our shaman said, "Goddess, take me now." Of the eight other people in the game, seven (including the DM) said "We'll help" and rolled their dice to see if they could do something. Totally disrupted the game for at least five minutes because of the laughter and we DIDN'T end up killing the character - or the player. But your "friend" Jerry should have realized right there that his comment was unwelcome. Odds are, though, that he just ignored the event entirely. AND given past behavior here, Col will only go for a short while before he'll have to step in again.

@moke123: Seems you missed reading the comments. Most of those commenting recognized that the Democrats already attempted to impose an authoritarian government. The social media companies are now tripping over themselves in attempts to apologize for not standing-up to the Biden administration. Then there is the infamous Orwellian "Ministry of Truth" that the Democrats attempted to implement.

Yes I did. I don't go on twitter. Too many Nazi's and white supremacists for me. Even grok spouts Nazi stuff.
Seems that you are closed to the possibility that Bill Maher is wrong and spreading misinformation. Moreover, based on your response, it would appear that you blatantly refuse to accept that what others have to say, could be true.

If Trump is such a dictator, why did he allow the Senate to pretend to close in August to prevent him from making recess appointments? This is just one example of how the Republicans collude with the Democrats to stop Trump at every opportunity. Trump didn't even call the leaders of the Senate and House out on this perfidy. Why? Because no matter what, he can't do anything at all without at least a modicum of support from the legislature. Some dictator Trump is. You confuse the things he says with the things he does. Then when the anti-Trump judges who think they are the president not Trump try to stop one of his initiatives, the Supremes have to step in and uphold the Constitution. So Trump actually is the leader of the Executive Branch. Who knew? Guess he has the authority to fire people at will.

Doc / Pat, I have not a clue what your anecdotes allude to. I have no idea how to play bridge, and I've never heard of dungeons and dragons, I guess it is a video game where you kill people. But I'm sure your stories are interesting, despite being specialised to your interests.
