Hi everyone,
I am trying to get vertical lines to stary relevant to the date they refer to.

All the videos I have watched, say that that range has to be a Scatter with Straight Lines and xxx . I have tried all 3 permutations and the same thing happens. :(

When I add the straight line and make sure the other series are Line, the chart is all scrunched up, as it is now. The series in question is Double.

I am trying to add a line at 19/04/2025 and one at 09/05/2025.
The first signifies when my blood pressure med was doubled and the secon when I have stopped taking altogether.

Is anyone able to make this happen please, but more importantly be able to tell me where I have likely gone wrong, as I am sure I would want to do this again sometime.
I have had to give it a .txt to upload, so please remove that.

I tried, but:
Your Excel file has a lot of tabs and it's difficult to understand what you really want to do.
You should upload only a tab with the dataset and another with the chart you have problems with.
If possible, you should upload an image of what you want to see.

Edgar,
If I could do that, I would not be asking. :)
I will trim it down.
Data comes in on qryPressure tab. In this file it is static.
The next tab Daily Chart is a chart of that data.

Now on 14/04/25 I had to double my dosage of Ramipril. Chart shows hardly any change.
So last Monday 09/05/25 I stopped taking it to see if there was much change. The reason the dosage was doubled, was it was having little effect since I started, and doubling that has not made any difference, as far as I can see.

So I just want lines on those dates, so when I show the diabetic nurse, she can compare the periods.
I have added lines (and will do so now to show what I am after), but they are static, and when the chart grows, then become out of place.

After posting, I di manged to get a single line, but it was completely on the wrong date. :(

I got it to work by:
--> right clicking on the date series on the chart --> select Format Axis --> Axis Options --> Axis Type: Change to Date Axis.

Wow, that was all it was. :(

Thank you @Darrell

Edit: When doing it for the other tab, which I did not upload, the scrunching did not happen?

Hmm random.. Maybe Excel saw what you were doing to the other tab and is just a fast learner :D

Well, I spotted Excel had changed some settings from what were originally made, but missed that date range, so thank you.

All the Youtube videos never had that issue. :(
