Turning a report on it's side

Anyone know how to turn a report on it's side? Essentially I want to able to compare data in columns rather than in rows for ease of visualization. So I want to be able to do sorting and grouping for columns rather than in rows. It seems like an easy thing, but I can't seem to find anything on it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Try creating a cross tab query from the current datasource and setting it as the datasource for a new report.
