Your use of the replace() Function seems to be correct, but it looks like you are trying to replace one space with one space. I am thinking htat this is a type-o for this post, but in the event that it is not, try the following:
Code:
fieldwithOnly1space: Replace([fieldwith2spaces],[COLOR=red][B]" "[/B][/COLOR]," ")

the forum squeezes out the extra space

I have this

fieldwithOnly1space: Replace([fieldwith2spaces],"bb","b")

with the b being a space.

I should have thought of that. Your format is correct and I have no additional suggestions regarding your problem. As far as the forum goes, if you surround any text that is entered, with a Code tag pair, then the text will be displayed without space compression. (Note: Each of the lines below was entered in the exact same format)

This Line DOES NOT Have Code Tags

Bob - You are correct. The two to one works!
I get to eat a little crow but get happy customers which pay my bills.

Thx for the help.

No problem. It is hard sometimes to tell how many spaces there really are in something. They aren't easily distinguished when next to each other :D

Not actually the forum but the html rendering specification itself. All sequences of spaces in html are reduced to a single space.

The PRE (preformatted) tag can be used to render text as typed.
