Hi
I am having a problem with 2 excel files that have been generated by Access. They have been generated using the TransferSpreadsheet function, selecting acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, although I get the same error if I use the OutputTo function.
Their is a master spreadsheet that looks up information in these 2 files. If they are open it can update itself. However if the 2 files are not open then the master spreadsheet comes up with an error message 'unable to read file' when I try to update the values. This is strange as if I press the open source button it finds and opens the files in excel.
I guess it is to do with the fact that these files have been generated by Access and are not true Excel files. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks
