Unbound Report

My Access database will produce a Contract with both static and dynamic information, main report, and a sub report, respectively.

My question is how do you enter static text in the main report? I have tried using a text box, but a text box requires an attached table. There will be no attached table...How do I do that?

Creating an Unbound Report

I need to create an unbound report to contain text that isn't changed. So, it will not have any controls on it. How do I type the static text? I tried the ="text here" but how do you type that command in? You cant just type directly on designview grid? How do u do it?

It would be the control source of a textbox. If you typed it directly into a textbox in design view, that would work, since that's the control source.

I'm new to Access...where do I type the command ="enter text here" On the report grid in design view? Where? God, please throw me a bone, and give me more info, please. Do I type the equal sign, and then just start typing, or what? Do I have to enter a control item..like a text box (but then that requires to link a table.. I don't want to do that.

Unbound Report - pbaldy - DON'T ANSWER!!

Put a textbox in the report, and type that into it. It does NOT require a link to a table.

A> The key word is RESPONDED, in this case to an unwaranted personal attack on a respected member of this community who had HELPED you (even if you were too lazy to read the help offered, or too dense to understand it and not ask for clarification in a civil manner).
AND
B>I have a history of HELPING people on this forum so I'm confident the moderators will cut me some slack (even if you didn't richly deserve the title 'pinhead'), whereas you have a history of 'fart posting': you make a lot of noise, you stink up the place, but there's no substance to your contributions even though we know that there's undoubtedly a (fecal matter) behind it all.

Grow up. I was asking a simple question, as a new user, and my frist response was a sarcastic, put off answer by a pbaldy..."I already answered your question..you shouldn't post it twice"

Well, the answer wasn't satisfactory, and answering it curtly and incompletely lessens the chances of somebody else answering it who has the time and gumption to maybe give me step by step instructions.

Case in point, I am getting several people wanting to argue with me, and threaten banishment from the support room, when you should all mind your own business. I get it. You all are young, and you think the world revolves around you. Well, it doesn't. I want answers to my questions from people who have the patience and maturity to answer them - not from people who want to join into a grade school lunchroom brawl.

I want this to stop, as I will be posting many other questions. So, stop your defensive little chatter, and move on. That is what I am asking you to do. Fair enough? I thought so.

And this all could have been settled if Mr. pbaldy didn't stick his nose in where it does not belong. Unless you, Mr. pbaldy, are a montior or administrator of this room, it was none of your business that I post a request twice. Maybe your request was not satisfactory, and I wanted to get a different viewpoint. I am completely within my rights to do so. So, the next time I ask a question twice do me a favor: Do not answer it to begin with. Okay. God...give a person a computer and a MVP status and they act like like a mini Hitler...geez!!!
