Solved Unbound textbox to filter form by Year only

Hi,

I am having trouble filtering my continuous form via an unbound text box by just typing in the year.

the textbox is cntrlDate, and the field I want to filter is [SurveyOn]

(Please ignore the gibberish text and 2nd filter button, this is still a work in progress)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

An easy way is to add to the form's query some calculated fields.
SurveyYear: Year([SurveyOn])
ReportYear: Year([ReportOn])

Now filter on SurveyYear or ReportYear

Would it be easier to use a text box with a date format and use a date picker rather than type date in?
