Hi Guys, I know this is not your typical type of question, but ill ask it anyway.
For my final year project in university I have to come up with a Project that will last for anything up t six months. I need to design, develop, maintain and enhance a database package or solution. I am really struggling to come up with some ideas as to what I could develop that would take up best part of six months? Has anyone done anything similar to this, or does anyone have any idea of where I could start? Obviously some sort of analysis needs to be concluded first, I just cant come up with a suitable topic! HELP!!!!!
Thanks guys

Why not approach one of your local charitys, I am sure they would love someone on hand who could offer some much needed expertise. I know in my area, the people who are attracted to doing charity work are often not IT literate which leads to poor direction of resources.

My recommendation would be to approach a counselling type of charity(Victim Support, ra** Crisis, HeadStart etc..) This way you could employ your workflow theory, relational db skills - once crime > many victims > many actions > many outcomes etc...

Six months is not a long time anyway. Not from start to finish of a good database from scratch that will have some longevity for the users.

You also might find it a useful conversation piece for interviews when you get a job.

Thanks for the advice Fornation. The thing is I already have a job, I work as a trainee DBA for the UKs largest publishing company. They have many databases already, and they have offered me some project work, working on the existing databases, but I would like to do something away from this! I just dont kknow where to start........ahhhh
