unwanted vertical lines on forms

There are mysterious gray or green vertical lines on some of my forms. They are not controls. You can see them in design and form view. I would like any advice on getting rid of these vertical lines. Thanks.

Do the lines move when you drag the form up, down, or sideways? If they move, they are part of the form itself.

Did you define the form with a special "background" file for your theme pattern? Sometimes a background theme can have lines build into it.

Do other utilities display these lines? If so, 'tain't Access.

Do you have an ATI video card more than about three years old? I have seen all sorts of horrendous video effects on old ATI cards.

It might have something to do with my background picture. When I turned the picture tiling off the gray or green became the background color of the corresponding section of the form. Then I thought it might be the picture type since other forms that did not have that problem had picture type Embedded and one of the affected forms was Linked. But changing it to Embedded did not fix it.

Now I have changed the background color to white, making the lines less visible against the background picture. It might be good enough. But I am still looking for a way to remove them entirely.
