update table from continuous form

I have a form with a continuous subform with bound checkboxes for selecting records. Once the record/s are selected I wish to update a table with the selection from a combo box. What steps need to be taken?

Bind the combo box to a field in form recordsource and set the appropriate column of the combo box as the bound column.
