I'm creating an MS Access Database as a front-end for a SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Database. I created a View Form (Form with Subform listing each record on a line) showing all records based on a SQL Server View. Then I created a Popup Form to show all fields in a record. I use the Popup form to Add and edit data. THe View form does not allow edits or deletes.
I have created this type of forms entry system using SQL Server 2000 for many years and it works well. However, I cannot seem to save a record in a Popup Form. It says the data is locked by another user. Again the View Form does not allow edits or deletes and therefore should not be an edited Record. I have locks set to edited record only (which should be the popup form). THe popup form is a popup but not modal.
Any ideas as to what is causing this problem.
By the way when I replace the SQL Server View with an MS Access Query, the popup works great. I could not find anything in SQL Server that would cause this. Must be missing something.
Mystified as usual !
