We are currently using Access 2003. I realize that it is going away and we have been planning to move to 2007 for nearly a year. Now that 2010 is out, our IT guy wants to move us straight to 2010. The upgrade is finally scheduled for early June.

I am skeptical about moving to a brand new release of any software. I have always waited about one year after a major change in software before I upgraded. That way the software company has time to work out the inevitable kinks that surface once a product goes live.

I would appreciate hearing the opinions of anyone interested in sharing. Am I being overly cautious? I know that the IT guy would rather do one upgrade instead of two. But the vast majority of our users have very poor computer skills and I am concerned about them having to deal with buggy software.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Cherry

My view - GO FOR 2010! It is much better than 2007 and also gets rid of some (not all) of 2007's Annoying things.

Like most Microsoft products, every other version is great because they are fixing the issues they created in the previous version.

We just jot 2007 this year so I know it will be years before we get 2010. ;-)
